Mead might be the ancestor of all alcoholic beverages and could be over 15,000 years old.
Mead is fermented with three elementary ingredients: honey, yeast, and water. This unique beverage isn’t classified as a beer or a wine. Mead is created by fermenting honey, while wine is made by fermenting grapes, and other fruits.
Mead comes in several forms; still (non-sparkling), dry, sweet, carbonated, and sparkling. Mead is produced all over the world including Ohio.
Mead will have a core taste of honey despite the style it’s made from. and offer a unique experience and flavor profile. A very popular alcoholic treat during the fall months.
