The world of gourmet chocolate is a delicious setting for the joy of fine wine. Both are synonymously linked in our hearts and minds as the ultimate power couple.

Laderach chocolate company began in 1962 and believes fresh chocolate is the best chocolate. They seek out the world’s most aromatic cocoa beans, and other ingredients from Switzerland.

The chocolates are extremely delicious, and the quality can be smelled when opening the package! Truffles, pralines, tablets, nuts, fruit, vegan, heart shaped delights, and chocolate coated popcorn.

I love all the flavors, especially the walnut marzipan, pistachio marzipan, and the FrischSchoggi raspberry-blackberry white bar. The blond chocolate praline is also exceptional and filled with gianduja.

Pina Coco is a new flavor of white chocolate with pineapple powder and coconut gianduja. Perfectly sweetened with pineapple chunks and toasted coconut flakes. Laderach chocolates are shipped all year in a compact freezer like container.

I paired these legendary chocolates with legendary wines.

Inniskillin’s Vidal Blanc ice wine is a sweet dessert wine, and a perfect foil for milk, blond, and white chocolate. This wine has intense flavors of mango, apricot, clover honey, peach, and brown sugar. The acidity in the wine pairs with the tartness of dried fruit in white chocolate. Canadians produce exceptional ice wine, and they produce the most ice wine in the world.

Bolla Amarone Della Valpolicella has elegant complex flavors of glazed cherries, raisins, dates, and baking spices. Produced from a blend of partially dried grapes, corvina, corvinone, rondinella, and molinara. This rich off dry red wine is from Italy with medium tannins and pairs with milk and dark chocolates. Tastes of cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon compliment the nuts in the dark chocolates from Laderach.
