The Council Oak restaurant in the Hard Rock Casino has a new menu.
I was very excited to dine in the beautiful atmosphere with blue velvet seating and modern charm.
The menu is easy to read and clear explanations of what the meal includes.
Council Oak is well respected for their aged steaks and the new menu offers prime cut steaks. The window on the side of the restaurant shows the butchers cutting and aging the lavish steaks.
Their menu includes seafood platters, salads, large sides, Johnny Bench catch & release, cauliflower steak, oysters Rockefeller, bone-in pork chop, raw bar, charred octopus, short ribs, and house made steak sauce.
I ordered the Heirloom Chicken with fennel, carrots. and gravy.
Moist chicken with a crisp flavorful skin, rosemary, sage, salt, and smoky tastes. The jus that accompanied was incredible with tastes of thyme and wine that truly enhanced the chicken.
My side was the Au gratin potatoes, which were delicious, buttery, thinly sliced, and richly filling. Enough to share yet I ate the entire dish without regrets.
The jumbo lump crab cakes are all crab and seasonings no filler, delicious and fresh.

I ordered wine by the glass and the choices were in abundance.
Red wines with age are my happy place in this life, and Council Oak delivered. I
I enjoyed merlot from Washington State and cabernet sauvignon from California. There is a choice of a 6 oz or a 9 oz pour.
Beautiful wine list of full bottles, beer, and unique cocktails. Served with a smile and exquisite customer service.
The Sexiest Dessert in the Queen City
So, this was unexpected in every way when I ordered the “Smoked old fashioned Bourbon poundcake” with orange sorbet, whole cherries in compote, and whipped cream!
The dessert arrived under a glass cloche with smoke swirling around inside.
Yes, the taste of smoke is present, and the dessert is wonderfully delicious with various textures. A must try item on the menu and great for date night.
Council Oak exceeded my high expectation for fine dining.
