Modus is a word derived from the Latin words for “method” and “measure” which represents Ruffino’s approach to blending three noble grape varieties. Merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and Sangiovese are blended in harmony to create a Super Tuscan, which is aged 12 months in French barrels.
The difference between a Tuscan and a Super Tuscan is the use of grapes.
Super Tuscan wines utilize Tuscan and grapes grown in other regions.
A full-bodied dry red wine with a deep brownish red color. The tantalizing nose of earth, ceder, boysenberry, and cracked black pepper is lovely.
Incredible tastes of wild blackberries, clove, dried Italian parsley, coco powder, black licorice, oak, big shoulder tannins, and a medium acidity.
This wine is sophisticated and rich on the palette, continues to develop as its enjoyed.
I drank a few glasses with mushroom pizza and a garlic olive oil crust. Also pairs well with meatloaf, short ribs, salami, mortadella, blue vein cheeses, and pepperoni pizza.
Allow this wine to breath in a big glass and remember to swirl and sniff.
Ruffino has an entire portfolio of amazing Italian wines, and they are easily assessable in retail.
