In 1830 the Tasca brothers purchased Tenuta Regaleali, a green oasis in Sicily. Each generation of the Tasca d’Almerita family has cared for the land with passion.

Cavallo delle Fate is an amazing dry medium-bodied white wine produced from the Grillo grape.

With a bold acidity, a deep straw color with golden reflections, and very attractive in the glass.

Grillo means “cricket” in Italian translation.

Italian fairy tales refer to Cavallo delle Fate as “fairy horse” since crickets are said to ride fairies on their backs.

The exciting nose of the fairy horse is beautiful with sliced green apples, carnations, and lily of the valley. Tastes of mouthwatering acidity, spicy radish, green apple, lemon rind, fresh quince, and ripened pineapple.

I had several glasses with my homemade chicken potpie and rainbow carrots. Also pairs with cooked fall veggies: kale, yellow squash, roasted root veggies, and mushrooms.

Seafood: oysters on the half shell, coconut shrimp, pan seared fish, crabcakes, and lobster tails.

Try pairing with a loaded baked potato as the acidity will reform the cheese, crispy bacon, and sour cream.
