The MLK Coaltion led the 49th annual march from the Underground Railroad Freedom Center to Washington Park on January 15 in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The march started shortly after 10:30 am on Monday morning. The march ended roughly an hour later at Washington Park, with the MLK Coalition hosting a program at Music Hall. The 2024 theme was “Love, Power, Justice” in honor of Dr. King’s dedication to making these ideals a reality for all people, especially those oppressed by poverty, racism and violence. Speakers of the program included Bishop Ennis Tait, Rickell Howard Smith, and Judge Fanon Rucker. Photo by Herald staff
