Finalizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to Advance Health Equity for Black Women.

We are excited to share a significant milestone in our efforts to advance health equity for Black women in Hamilton County. This week, we are finalizing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for our Community Health Workers (CHWs). These SOPs are designed to standardize and optimize the delivery of health services across various settings, ensuring consistency and quality of care.

Our commitment to policy and systems change is at the heart of this initiative. By developing comprehensive SOPs, we aim to create sustainable improvements in healthcare access and outcomes for Black women. Under the guidance of our dedicated team, including the invaluable insights from our award-winning Program Manager and Community Health Worker, Tiffany George, the SOPs will serve as a robust framework for CHWs working in hospitals, public schools, court systems, and other non-traditional settings.

Goals

  • CHW Integration: Ensure Community Health Workers (CHWs) are integrated into both traditional and non-traditional settings.
  • SOP Development: Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for CHWs in hospital settings.

Progress

  • The SOPs are in the final stages of development, with input from healthcare professionals and community stakeholders to ensure they meet the highest standards. Once finalized, we will begin training our CHWs, with the goal of full implementation within the next quarter.

Housing

Highlighting Our Executive Director’s Impact at Own Blk Cincy

We are dedicated to advancing fairness in housing appraisals by advocating for policy changes that empower and promote Black women in the appraisal industry. Our goal is to ensure appraisals are conducted without racial bias, fostering racial equity in property valuation. All-In Cincinnati was proud to attend and participate in the Own Blk Cincy Conference/Policy Symposium last month.

Our Executive Director, Denisha Porter, delivered exceptional insights during the panel discussion on ‘Tackling Racial Bias in Appraisals’ at the Own Blk Cincy Conference/Policy Symposium. Her profound understanding of the challenges faced by Black women appraisers was invaluable and significantly contributed to the success of the event.

Denisha’s advocacy highlights our commitment to policy and systems change that advances racial equity for Black women in Hamilton County.

Goals

  • Licensure Reform: We are actively advocating for changes to Ohio’s appraisal licensure to include a mentorship component specifically designed to support Black women.
  • Training Initiatives: Our focus is on establishing a comprehensive training plan tailored to Black women appraisers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and support to excel in their careers.

Progress

  • We have made significant strides in engaging with educational and real estate sectors, forging essential partnerships to advance this initiative. These collaborations, such as the one made during the Own Blk Cincy Conference, are critical in driving systemic change and supporting Black women in the appraisal industry.
