Community Health Advocate Award for Advocating for Black Women!

All-In Cincinnati celebrates our Program Manager, Tiffany George, for receiving the prestigious CCTST Community Health Advocate Award! Tiffany’s leadership and advocacy for Black women’s health exemplify our coalition’s mission to uplift Black women by expanding access to care, improving health outcomes, and advancing health equity.

Daily, Tiffany and our team are committed to placing Community Health Workers (CHWs) where they’re needed most—advocating for Black women’s health in clinical and non-traditional settings.

GOALS

  • CHW Integration: Ensure Community Health Workers (CHWs) are integrated into both traditional and non-traditional settings.
  • SOP Development: Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for CHWs in hospital settings.

PROGRESS

  • Our team’s efforts in developing SOPs for CHWs continue to shape high-quality, inclusive care for Black women across Greater Cincinnati.

HOUSING

David G. Beard Scholarship Application Closed

At All-In Cincinnati, we remain committed to connecting Black women with opportunities that support their professional growth. The David G. Beard Scholarship, funded through the Greater Cincinnati Realtist Association’s annual golf outing, recently provided a powerful opportunity for aspiring appraisers and real estate professionals to pursue their goals.

The extended deadline of November 22, 2024, gave eligible Black women additional time to apply and position themselves as change-makers in housing practices. This scholarship represents a vital step toward increasing equity and representation in the housing industry.

GOALS

  • Licensure Reform: We are actively advocating for federal changes to appraisal licensure to include the implementation of a mentorship component specifically designed to support Black women across the nation.
  • Training Initiatives: Our focus is on establishing a comprehensive national training plan tailored to Black women appraisers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and support to excel in their careers.

PROGRESS

  • We successfully promoted the David G. Beard Scholarship to Black women in Hamilton County, ensuring they were aware of this opportunity to advance in appraisal and real estate professions. As the application process closes, we look forward to seeing how this program will help diversify and transform the housing industry.

On November 3rd, Denisha Porter, Executive Director of All-In Cincinnati, was honored at Herald BeautyCON for her exceptional mentorship and leadership in uplifting Black women. Serial entrepreneur Morgan Owens recognized Denisha for the pivotal role her mentorship has played in Morgan’s phenomenal journey, highlighting its far-reaching impact on advancing educational and career opportunities for Black women in Hamilton County.

Denisha’s work exemplifies the transformative power of community leadership and the role storytelling plays in driving meaningful, lasting change.

The Cincinnati Lifts Inclusion and Minority Business award affirms our commitment to break down barriers and uplift Black women entrepreneurs. With this recognition, we’re reminded of the progress we’ve made and are motivated to continue driving real change in economic mobility for our community.

  • Capital Access: Advocate for policies that improve access to capital for Black women entrepreneurs, ensuring we have the resources needed to grow our businesses.

Factors like housing, employment, education, and healthcare access not only affect health but also justice and opportunity in our communities.

All-In Cincinnati is dedicated to dismantling the systemic barriers that perpetuate injustice by advancing policies that uplift Black women, ensuring they have the resources, safety, and support to thrive. Through strategic partnerships, such as with Buckeye Health, we are bridging critical gaps and expanding pathways to justice, and racial equity for Black women.

  • 3 P’s Implementation: Creating spaces and opportunities through paid apprenticeships (Paying), positive reinforcement of cultural identity (Pride), and identifying talents and abilities among young Black women (Purpose).

We are excited to share a significant milestone in our efforts to advance health equity for Black women in Hamilton County. This week, we are finalizing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for our Community Health Workers (CHWs). These SOPs are designed to standardize and optimize the delivery of health services across various settings, ensuring consistency and quality of care.

Our commitment to policy and systems change is at the heart of this initiative. By developing comprehensive SOPs, we aim to create sustainable improvements in healthcare access and outcomes for Black women. Under the guidance of our dedicated team, including the invaluable insights from our award-winning Program Manager and Community Health Worker, Tiffany George, the SOPs will serve as a robust framework for CHWs working in hospitals, public schools, court systems, and other non-traditional settings.

Goals

  • CHW Integration: Ensure Community Health Workers (CHWs) are integrated into both traditional and non-traditional settings.
  • SOP Development: Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for CHWs in hospital settings.

Progress

  • The SOPs are in the final stages of development, with input from healthcare professionals and community stakeholders to ensure they meet the highest standards. Once finalized, we will begin training our CHWs, with the goal of full implementation within the next quarter.

Highlighting Our Executive Director’s Impact at Own Blk Cincy

We are dedicated to advancing fairness in housing appraisals by advocating for policy changes that empower and promote Black women in the appraisal industry. Our goal is to ensure appraisals are conducted without racial bias, fostering racial equity in property valuation. All-In Cincinnati was proud to attend and participate in the Own Blk Cincy Conference/Policy Symposium last month.

Our Executive Director, Denisha Porter, delivered exceptional insights during the panel discussion on ‘Tackling Racial Bias in Appraisals’ at the Own Blk Cincy Conference/Policy Symposium. Her profound understanding of the challenges faced by Black women appraisers was invaluable and significantly contributed to the success of the event.

Denisha’s advocacy highlights our commitment to policy and systems change that advances racial equity for Black women in Hamilton County.

Equipping Black Women to Make Informed Voting Decisions this Fall

In our ongoing commitment to civic engagement, we emphasize the power and responsibility of voting. This year, in partnership with the League of Women Voters and the NAACP, we are focusing on educating Black women about the importance of informed voting. We honor the legacy and impact of Black women in shaping our society and these partnerships align with our shared mission of achieving racial equity.

All-In Cincinnati aims to equip Black women with the knowledge and tools they need to actively engage in policy and advocacy efforts, by providing comprehensive insights into various issues without bias, ensuring voters are well-informed.

Goals

  • Voter Education: Disseminate clear and impartial information through various guides and panel discussions that explain critical electoral issues in straightforward, accessible language.
  • Policy Awareness: Educate on the specific issues that are on the ballot, breaking down complex policy changes and their impacts on the community to make them accessible and understandable to all.

Progress

  • Utilizing newly formed partnerships to ensure a comprehensive electoral education, providing Black women with the knowledge we need.

  • Join us at our upcoming August Coalition Meeting on Thursday, August 22 at 3pm, at Greater Cincinnati Foundation. The All-In Cincinnati TV Show is Officially in Production!

Our commitment to advancing the economic mobility of Black women in Hamilton County is embodied in our upcoming TV show, “Empower & Eat.” This show will amplify the voices of Black women entrepreneurs, providing a platform to highlight their experiences and successes, and demystify policy and systems change. By leveraging media, we make complex concepts accessible and actionable for all.

Goals

  • Capital Access: Advocate for policies that improve access to capital for Black women entrepreneurs, ensuring we have the resources needed to grow our businesses.
  • Community Engagement: Encourage active participation in advocacy by showcasing real-life examples and success stories of Black women entrepreneurs on the show.

Celebrating Success: Regional Police Accountability and Public Safety Conference.

We are delighted to celebrate the success of the Policing Accountability and Public Safety Regional Conference, established by Iris Roley last month. This conference addressed critical issues and promoted healing for young Black women in Hamilton County. All-In Cincinnati proudly partnered with our esteemed Core Team Member, Iris Roley, a distinguished Black woman community leader advocating for justice and racial equity.

Under Iris’ leadership, the Policing Accountability and Public Safety Regional Conference convened community leaders, policymakers, and experts to foster dialogue on policing accountability and public safety. All-In Cincinnati continues to support Iris Roley’s efforts, aligning with our commitment to promoting justice and racial equity in Cincinnati.

Goals

  • 3 P’s Implementation: Creating spaces and opportunities through paid apprenticeships (Paying), positive reinforcement of cultural identity (Pride), and identifying talents and abilities among young Black women (Purpose).

As Women’s Herstory Month unfolds, it’s a time of reflection, celebration, and action. At the heart of this vibrant observance is All-In Cincinnati, a racial equity coalition dedicated to the mantra of Building Racial Equity as we Honor, Celebrate, and Love Black Women. Our coalition, in partnership with Greater Cincinnati Foundation, Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation, Fifth Third Foundation, Interact for Health, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, and bi3 is steadfast in its mission to foster systemic change, amplify efforts for equitable neighborhoods, and drive sustainable economic growth through equity.

Our dedicated team is the backbone of this mission:

  • Denisha Porter, our Executive Director, leads with vision, strategic direction, and unwavering passion.
  • Tiffany George, Program Manager, champions community-led policy change and reduces health dispaotes as a Community Health Worker.
  • Segann March, our Grant Writing Specialist, secures the essential resources for our initiatives.
  • Courtney D. Holland, Director of Communications and Community Engagement, broadens our reach and deepens community connections.
  • Rameka Smith, Administrative Assistant, ensures our operations are streamlined. 

Moreover, we’re thrilled to spotlight the exceptional contributions that made our recent “Shirley” movie screening event a resounding success. Our deepest gratitude is extended to Kristen Schlotman of Film Cincinnati, whose unwavering dedication and insight were instrumental in illuminating the achievements of pioneering Black women like Shirley Chisholm. Her contributions not only enriched the event but also deepened our community’s engagement with such an important narrative. Special thanks to Regina and Reina King for bringing Chisholm’s story to life, and providing over 1200 jobs in Cincinnati. We also extend our gratitude to Aharon Brown, Director of the Racial Justice Fund, and Rasheda Cromwell, Chief Impact Officer at the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, for their pivotal support in celebrating the legendary Regina and Reina King.

Chef LaTrisha Fail from SeasonedDish elevated the evening with her culinary expertise, adding to the night’s success.

The Cincinnati Herald’s Nefertiti Awards Banquet will honor extraordinary women who exemplify the wisdom and inner beauty of the ancient African Queen Nefertiti on Saturday, June 2, in the beautiful, newly renovated Music Hall Ballroom. Vendor booths open at 11 a.m. and the luncheon and program will run from noon to 2 p.m. Christie Kuhns, Esq., former state representative and current vice president at UC Health, is the keynote speaker and Courtis Fuller, WLW TV5 news anchor, is the master of ceremonies. There will be music, entertainment, inspiration and more. The cost is $20. UC Health is the lead sponsor this year for the Nefertiti Awards.
